Xmas Lecture
December 2007
I was asked by the British Computer Society (Scotland) to speak as their guest speaker at their xmas lecture. It was a good night and great honour to be asked. I will not say too much but post the presentation I did here for you to comment on if you so wish.
The lecture was entitled the Internet beyond YouTube strangely and focussed on where the Internet MAY go from here and some of the challenges it faces. I hope you find it at least a small bit interesting.

Perpetual Data - Enter
Disclaimer !! - This is the company I work for and am founder of, so all opinions will be biased and also personal and not that of the companies.
I have a dream about computers and networking and that dream is they will become defunct eventually. Not disappear literally but not be in our faces like they are. More importantly we will manage data completely different too. This video show one way - there are more. The most
important issue with this video which is maybe not so clear is that this system gives you complete charge over your own ID and nobody else can touch you or know of your existence without your express permission. Think of the future of that, validated votes, cyber currency that works and is fair, shared cpu (disk is shown in the video) and much much more. Now imagine all this was FREE ! That could be very worthwhile.
